What is Hyponica?

Hyponica is a method of growing plants by using air and water. Hyponica does not use soil and organic fertilizer. All plants can grow freely in the Hyponica method. It was first demonstrated to public in 1985 by agronomist Shigeo Nozawa in a tomato plant project in the Tshukuba Science and Technolgy Expo. He was successful in growing more than 12,000 giant "hyponica tomatoes" per plant by giving the young plants fresh water and fertilizer only. He commented:"The only thing I did was remove conditions that would be hazardous to the trees' growth. I just facilitated their fullest self-realization."

The botanical compositions are Carbon(C), Oxygen(O), and Hydrogen(H). These three components take up 93% of plant substances. All of these components can be obtained from Air and Water naturally. Balance 7% is mainly Nitrogen(N), Phosphorous(N), Potassium(K) and others. Others are trace-elements such as Calcium, Magnesium and Mineral. This 7% is necessary for plant nutriment. As a matter of fact, the percentage of each component for all the plants is the almost same.

Plants have a kind of programming in their DNA. They will automatically absorb their necessary nutriment from their roots. During the growing up period of the plants, the necessary nutriment changes from time to time. That is why you need to design the fertilizer arrangement if soil is used.
